Flooring Tips
It’s springtime in North Carolina. What’s not to love? The pollen in your flooring doesn’t. Who doesn’t appreciate the beauty of a newly blooming garden, and waking up the cheerful sound of birds chirping outside your door? In fact for some people, there are so many things in the spring to look forward to (especially since it’s a nice change of pace from the ‘winter blues’) that it’s easy to forget what the drawbacks of this beloved season are. Pollen is prevalent, which means that if you have carpet in your home, chances are you have pollen—and a possible pollen allergy.
Pollen is everywhere, which are sporadically everywhere around us since the wind carries them near and far. Chances are if you’re in the habit of keeping windows or doors open (even with a screen to prevent bugs from entering your home) pollen will find a way in. Typically tree or grass pollen, your carpet is often one of the biggest ‘traps’ should you not be proactive in removing it quickly.
Palmer’s Home Flooring suggests you increase your vacuuming to 2-3 times a week at a minimum to keep the pollen.
If you have hardwoods or ceramic flooring break out the swiffer and clean up that pollen so you don’t track it throughout your house.
